Statutory rates of pay for family leave and sick pay are updated annually – this year’s changes will take effect on 6th April.
2025 statutory rates for family leave and sick pay
The new minimum rates are shown in the table below, but as always these figures will be superseded by any higher figures you may choose to offer your employees — on a discretionary basis or as part of a contractual obligation.

Adoption pay | £184.03 per week | £187.18 per week |
Parental bereavement pay | £184.03 per week | £187.18 per week |
Sick pay | £116.75 per week | £118.75 per week |
To qualify for family leave, employees need to meet certain salary requirements. Average gross weekly earnings required to qualify will increase from £123.00 or more per week to £125.00. The above amounts only apply if higher than the employee’s actual wage, if their normal weekly wage is less they get the lower amount.
